READ: Psalm 15:1-5

“My son, fear thou the Lord and the king: and meddle not with them that are given to change” – Proverbs 24:21

Today, we want to examine one common factor that leads a person to disloyalty. This is what I call an erratic personality or character.

Some people have a disposition to make sudden decisions. They can alter the plan of their lives within minutes. This is a very dangerous trait. Such people can be with you today but can desert you tomorrow. When they speak of their commitment to a cause, you will be impressed by their speech. But don’t be fooled! These people are usually gifted speakers and orators. They will change direction without any major provocation, to your surprise! I am convinced that this is a character or personality trait, and this is what the Bible speaks of in Proverbs 24:21.

Do you have a tendency to change course suddenly after you have been extremely committed to something? A Christian must be a person who makes a statement and sticks to his word no matter what it costs. God is faithful to us even when we are not faithful to Him (2 Timothy 2:13). Nothing makes Him change His mind!

God is trying to build a breed of Christians who do not change their minds easily about the convictions they have. Thank God that Jesus did not change His mind when He came into this world and experienced such hatred and animosity from the people He loved. The ministry of the Lord Jesus Christ is not safe in the hands of erratic leaders. If you have an erratic nature, decide today to be a steadfast believer.

  1. Bishop,
What a word, i have really been blessed by this message. We have so many unsteady, inconsistence, unreliable, Christians whom you cannot even predict how they will become or even be in the church, because of their eractic behaviour. You cannot even think together with them to even tell them about the future of the church and build the vision with them because of their provocation to make a sudden decision.
In Kenya they are called Kangaroo Christians, meaning “Jumping from one church to another. This reminds me of the scripture in Jeremiah 2:36.
” Why gaddest thou about so much exchange thy way?”
It is a timely message. And will take caution to my self aswell.
